Donna Summer - Tokyo (Klyk's Smooth Remix)

My latest post is a nice remix of the classic album track "Tokyo".
Taken from the album "She Works Hard For The Money" in 1983, this smouldering ballad has been given a new intro with spacey SFX, the original intro fades in and repeats before the vocal comes in. I have added a little sprinkling of percussion to move the track along to its long instrumental fade with SFX outro.
Hope you like it

Donna Summer - I Got Your Love (Klyk's Extended Remix)

This has become somewhat of a classic, not only because of it being a great song in it's own right, but because it was first featured in an episode of the great 'Sex & The City', series.
I remixed this about 2 years ago and it has been downloaded by many fans of Donna Summer.
Please sit back and listen, or dance away to this great tune.

Love To Love You Baby (Klyk's Sexy Remix)

The song that started it all.
Donna Summer's Love To Love You Baby was an innovation in disco music back in 1975, from the breathy vocals, to the very suggestive lyrics, this song took the world by storm and made Donna Summer a Superstar.
The teaming of Donna with Giorgio Moroder & Pete Bellotte was a winning combination for the rest of the 'Disco' era, notching up hit after hit with the fusion of beatiful vocals and lush, driving arrangements.
Here is my take on this particular song, hope you like what I did with it.

t.A.T.u. - Ne Ver Ne Boisia (Klyk's 2009 Dance Mix)

"Ne ver', ne boysia" Translated: ("Don't trust, don't fear") also known as "Ne Ver', Ne Boysia, Ne Prosi" ("Don't Trust, Don't Fear, Don't Beg") is a song by t.A.T.u. that they performed at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest while representing Russia. Although the girls placed third, the song got much attention.
The title of the song is based on a Russian prison saying, which entered Russian mainstream culture thanks to Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's book The Gulag Archipelago.
The song was first released on the UK Maxi single for "Not Gonna Get Us" on May 19, 2003. It was then released on the UK Deluxe Edition of 200 km/h in the Wrong Lane on May 26, 2003. It was then released on November 25, 2003 in t.A.T.u. Remixes. The song reappeared in 2006 on The Best.
The only physical single for "Ne Ver.." was a 'not for sale' promo release distributed for Eurovision.
According to Australian-born Mars Lasar, the song was produced by him and Shapovalov by sending MP3s over the internet to each other, with Mars in the U.S. and Shapovalov in Russia.
The are several versions of the song, including the promotional version that was used for Eurovision promotions.

Enjoy this remix of one of my favourite t.A.T.u songs

Sandie Shaw - Puppet On A String (Klyk's Hi-Nrg Mix)

"Puppet on a String" is the name of the Eurovision Song Contest-winning song in 1967 by British singer Sandie Shaw.[1] It was her thirteenth UK single release. The song was a UK Singles Chart number one hit on 27th April 1967, staying at the top for a total of three weeks. The song is not to be confused with the Bennett-Tepper song "Puppet on a String", which was performed by Elvis Presley.
Shaw had originally performed the song as one of five prospective numbers to represent the United Kingdom in the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest on The Rolf Harris Show. She had never been taken with the idea of taking part in the contest but her discoverer, Adam Faith had talked her into it, saying it would keep her manager Eve Taylor happy. Taylor was wanting to give Shaw a more cabaret appeal and felt that this was the right move - and also felt that it would get Shaw back in the public's good books as she had recently been involved in a divorce scandal.
Of the five songs performed, "Puppet on a String" was Shaw's least favourite. In her own words "I hated it from the very first oompah to the final bang on the big bass drum. I was instinctively repelled by its sexist drivel and cuckoo-clock tune." She was disappointed when it was selected as the song she would use to represent the country. Shaw won the contest hands down, though it has always been felt that this was partly down to her existing popularity on the continent (she had recorded most of her hit singles in French, Italian, German and Spanish). As a result "Puppet on a String" became her third Number One hit in the UK (a record for a female at the time) and was a big worldwide smash (the biggest selling single of the year in Germany).
Shaw re-recorded "Puppet on a String" in early 2007 in honour of her 60th birthday. This took place after Shaw visited her friend, musician Howard Jones and found him playing some chords on his keyboard and humming a melody. He encouraged her to continue the melody and before long she realised that it was in fact "Puppet on a String." They recorded the new, slow-tempo electronic version of the song and sent it to producer/mixer Andy Gray who put the final touches on the song. Shaw stated that she loved the new version (having spent a great deal of her life hating the original) and released it exclusively for free download from her official website on the 26th February (her actual birthday). It was available for free download for sixty days. As a result of its popularity, Shaw continued to put out new songs on her website for download for the remaining months of her 61st year.

Here in all it's glory is my re-working of the catchy little tune.
Enjoy

Secret Garden - Nocturne

"Nocturne" was the winning song in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995, performed in Norwegian by Secret Garden representing Norway.
The song was performed fifth on the night, following Bosnia and Herzegovina's Davor Popovic with "Dvadeset prvi vijek" and preceding Russia's Philip Kirkorov with "Kolibelnaya dlya vulkana". At the close of voting, it had received 148 points, placing 1st in a field of 23.
The victory represented the second for composer Rolf Løvland, who had previously written "La det swinge". Additionally, it represented the first time in four years that Ireland had not won the Contest, thus bringing to an end the only hat-trick of victories in Eurovision history. Ireland would go on to win the next Contest, achieving the feat of four victories in five years.
As Norway had previously won the Contest in 1985 with "La det swinge", the second victory allowed the tongue-in-cheek tradition to emerge that Norway could only win in years ending with a 5, a joke referred to by the members of Bobbysocks at the Congratulations special in late 2005, Norway having entered "In My Dreams" that year and not achieved victory.
The song was succeeded as winner in 1996 by Eimear Quinn representing Ireland with "The Voice".
It was succeeded as Norwegian representative at the 1996 Contest by Elisabeth Andreassen with "I evighet".
The song is noted for its relative absence of lyrics - with only 25 words being sung in the original Norwegian version and much of the rest of the song being given over to a violin intermezzo performed by guest Irish musician Fionnuala Sherry. While no other victorious song has featured so few words, Finland would go on to place 15th in the 1998 Contest with "Aava", which contains only six words repeated throughout the song.
Nocturne was not released as a single in Norway itself. The first release of the song as a single would come in a comedic cover version by country-inspired band Dusty Cowshit.
Nocturne was included in Secret Garden's first album, Songs from a Secret Garden.
So here is what I did with those 25 words. Enjoy

The Nolans - Crashing Down (Klykthemixer's Extended Remix 2009)

This 80's track from The Nolans was a single in Japan, but only an album track in my native UK.
I have totally re-worked this with a more driving dance beat and thumping bassline.
A sprinkling of
synth parts completes this very nice pop classic.

Fame (The Game) (Edson Pride Famous Mix)
Stamp Your Feet (Escape & Collucio Club Mix)
Dream-A-Lot's Theme (I Will Live For Love (Chris Cox' Extended Mix)

My latest mix is a medley of Donna Summers' post 2000 tracks which includes tracks remixed from the 'Crayons' CD.
I have overlayed drums and percussion from various parts of all listed tracks in the mix to create a seamless medley, perfect for the ardent dance floor bunny. I have also ran the classic "I feel love" bassline through some parts of the mix to add a little nostalgia.
Hope you enjoy my effort here.
A comment would be nice on how you think I did.
Cheers
